Course description

“Form is a compulsory course for the major of Industrial Design (visual communication, industrial design, etc.).The goal of the course is to enable students to master basic skills and methods of plastic arts. The core content is to learn the observation and expression of the form , understanding the form of structure with light and shadow, and the curriculum focus is to improve students' basic modeling ability.

The course can be roughly divided into several parts, including composition practice,physical structure and light and shadow of objects,etc. By learning perspective principle, students will strengthen the understanding of object structure. Observing the intrinsic structural relationship of the various components of the constitutive object, so that they could achieve an accurate representation of the form.The fundamental purpose is to train students' basic professional skills and qualities in plastic arts, such as observation ability and expression ability, basic composition skills, understanding of physical structure, expression ability of light and shadow, spatial imagination and expression . All of the above will lay a good foundation for the study of relevant professional courses in the future,which are also the most essential for students majoring in design.
