As the Yuelu Scholar and Z.F Zeng Endowed Professor in the School of Design, Dr. Wei Wang brings industrial and international experience to Hunan University. His research focuses on smart product design from the user experience and emerging consumer technology. He directs the Tangible User Interface and Intelligent Interaction System Lab (TUIIXS Lab) and the Interactive Product Experience Design Studio (iPED Studio) on research and application of emerging interactive technologies in future consumer electronics to boost the unique tech-driven Industrial Design at Hunan University. Wang's design, research, and teaching have won multiple international awards, including the Annual Engagement and Enterprise Award from Queen Mary University of London, Annual Achievement Awards from Nokia, the Science and Technology Award of China Mechanical Industry, the Class 1969 Teaching Fellow in Georgia Tech, Georgia Tech/BP Junior Faculty Award and Michelin Challenge Design Award in a worldwide competition. Wang previously worked in Nokia Research Center, Queen Mary University of London, and Georgia Institute of Technology before he joined Hunan University.
Professor Wang's Lab recruits graduate students, doctoral students, research assistants, and post-doctoral fellows who have a background in computer or industrial design and have a strong interest in interactive product and experience design.
