
Francisco Rebelo is an ergonomist researcher focusing on the interaction design with emerging technologies. He is the head of the ErgoVR - http://www.fmh.utl.pt/ergovr/ - research unit mainly involved in the modeling of Virtual Environments to study and optimize the human interaction in ergonomic design.
Specialties: ergonomics; human-computer interaction; user centred design;
usability; user experience; user needs assessment and persona creation; heuristic evaluation.
Francisco Rebelo belongs to the editorial of some International Journals (i.e. Human Factors and Ergonomics in Manufacturing & Services Industries, Theoretical Issues in Ergonomics Science). Is external adviser of projects the Portuguese Foundation of Science and Technology and the Portuguese Innovation Agency. He is European Ergonomist and Portuguese representative in the Council of the Centre for Registration of European Ergonomists (CREE). Is Co-Chair of the Ergonomics in Design Conferences in Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics, since 2012 - http://www.ahfe2016.org/board.html#eid and belong to the board of the
International Conference on Design, User Experience and Usability of the Human Computer Interaction, since 2014 - http://2017.hci.international/duxu.
Has coordinated projects financed by the European Union, Portuguese Foundation of Science and
Technology and companies (i.e. Embraer, NOKIA, Siemens, VW, ACECIA - Componentes Integrados da Indústria Automóvel, REFER, ADTRANZ, Nespresso).
Has supervised 7 PhD, 39 Master students and 5 Postdoc researchers.
