Stefan A. Barth

Stefan Barth is Head of the CAD Lab at Pforzheim University, School of Design, Germany, where he teaches digital design, CAD modeling, virtual reality, and rapid prototyping. He supervises thesis projects across disciplines and conducts international workshops, including ongoing collaborations with Hunan University, School of Design, in Changsha, PR China, since 2019.

With a background in Industrial and Transportation Design, Stefan Barth specializes in advanced CAD workflows, immersive visualization, and generative design methods. His design practice explores the integration of AI, VR, real-time rendering, and additive manufacturing in the creative process.

As a designer, he has developed mobility concepts, interior studies and designs for clients such as TRW Automotive, Maybach, Xenatec and Koch Engineering. He studied Transportation Design and Creative Direction at Pforzheim University and worked in both product and transportation design. His master’s thesis focused on autonomous mobility and its implications for future design and infrastructure. In his academic and professional work, he combines hands-on prototyping with research into emerging digital tools and interdisciplinary design strategies.
