Course Introduction

The Design Thinking Workshop course is an optional course for the second semester of industrial design students. It aims to widen their horizon and help students improve their comprehensive creative design thinking ability. In this course, we intend to invite senior domestic and foreign industry experts participate in teaching, mainly introduce the latest developments in design industry, industry trends and needs, actual product development processes and methods, etc. Students need to propose a creative design around a specific theme discussing social issues nowadays.

The task of this course is to enable students to understand the content, processes and functions of industrial design in enterprise product development activities in short-term concentrated workshop, and to have a preliminary concept of design in the context of socio-economic environment. Through thematic training, the design fundamentals and skills can be consolidated and reinforced, design ideas can be broadened, and will also provide new ideas for subsequent professional learning and practice.
