Course Introduction

Illustration is an ancient art form and it is the origin of many art forms.  It is widely used in various industries in today's society and plays an important role in the field of mass culture communication.


The form of illustration is rich and colorful, and the combination of practicality and artistry makes it very easy to be accepted by its target costumers. As an important form of visual communication, illustration occupies a specific position in modern design and has been widely used in many fields of modern design.


The entry threshold of illustration is not high, so there are many "zero foundation" tutorials on the market, but the professional height of illustration is actually the same as fine art, which is very challenging.


Through a series of courses such as illustration art history, case study, illustration drawing technique practice, and illustration practice, this course aims to enables students to master the basic skills of illustration, help students broaden their horizons, improve their aesthetic taste, and lay a good foundation for students' design work in the future.
