Lorenzo Imbesi is an architect and Full Professor, he is the Director of the Interdepartmental Centre for Sapienza Design Research. Previously an Associate Professor and Chair of the Master of Design (MDes) at Carleton University (Canada) from 2009, over the years he has been an ICCS Fellow – Government of Canada and a visiting professor at numerous universities. He is currently an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Design Society (SID), President of the Cumulus Association (after serving as a member of its Executive Board for two terms), and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the European Academy of Design (EAD) since 2011. Author of books and numerous papers in leading scientific journals in the field, he is the editor of the journal Design Principles and Practices, a member of the editorial board of The Design Journal (Bloomsbury Publishing, London), and was previously on the Board of Directors of DIID Disegno Industriale.
