On June 28th, the National Arts Foundation's 2017 Art Talents Training Project, “Daxiangxi Minority Brocade Embroidery Craft Innovative Talents Training”, funded by the National Arts Foundation and undertaken by School of Design,Hunan University, was officially launched.Professor He Renke,dean of School of Design,Hunan University,and Teacher Wang Baosheng,communicated with students from all over the country.
The National Art Foundation is a public welfare fund established by the state to promote artistic creation, create and promote original quality products, cultivate artistic creation talents, and promote the healthy development of the national art industry. Funded by the National Arts Foundation and undertaken by Hunan University, the National Art Fund's 2017 Art Talents Training Project”Daxiangxi Minority Brocade Embroidery Craft Innovative Talents Training”aims to cultivate the contemporary Inheritance of the national intangible cultural heritage list “Dong Nationality brocade”and“cross-stitching”and innovative high-end young artistic talents,and promote the transformation of the contemporary application value of Dong nationality brocade and cross-stitching from“heritage”to “resources”.
Through social open enrollment, 20 outstanding young talents with potential, talents and considerable professional foundations were selected from nearly 100 application materials from 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country.In the next two months, our school will provide professional training for 20 outstanding young creative personnel through centralized lectures, creative guidance and communication.The project has a strong faculty,the national intangible cultural heritage project,the representative inheritor of Dong Nationality brocade technique,Su Tianmei, and the representative inheritor of Huayao cross-stitching,Feng Xuemei, is the main lecturer of the project.After the completion of the course, each student will complete at least one high-quality work. On August 26th, the final exhibition will be held at the Wuling Mountain Non-legacy Creation Center. The qualified students will be awarded a certificate of completion by the National Art Fund Management Center.

As a keynote speaker, Prof. He shared with students the regional culture and social innovation design practice project of Daxiangxi, and deeply explored the cultural resources advantages and ecological environment of ethnic minorities, in order to attract more external resources and external attention,build more harmonious, sustainable, multicultural coexistence creation network.Interdisciplinary teams work with local governments, companies, and craftsmen to develop participatory joint work camps to explore ways to build sustainable cultural and creative charity and social innovation networks.

Mr. Wang Weiyi, a senior arts and craftsman of the Hunan Arts and Crafts Institute, and Mr. Liu Qihou, the messenger of Huayao Culture Communication, brought a “Daxiangxi Cultural Feast” to everyone.
Teacher Wang Weiyi talked about his wonderful artistic creation. He showed students the results of the brocade investigation and the precious objects. He believed that design art should be rooted in the basics, pay attention to the details of the craftsmanship, and should not float on the surface.

Teacher Liu Qihou claimed to be a "villageman". Over the years, he and his wife, Zhu Chunying, walked on the road of the cultural investigation of Daxiangxi.He has always been in a busy state. It can be said that the "villageman" Liu Qihou is either on the road to the cultural investigation of the country, or on the road to the presentation of excellent country culture.He has detailed the sentiments of the field investigations for nearly forty years to students, and many of them are moving.
