Yi Xiao
The first alumni of the School of Design of Hunan University (formerly 82nd grade of mechanical modeling arts and crafts), professor of the School of Architecture and Art of Beijing Jiaotong University, doctoral tutor.
Professor Yi Xiao graduated from Hunan University in 1986 with a degree in industrial design. In 2002, she received a Ph.D. from the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University. In 2004, she graduated from the School of Design and Art of Beijing Institute of Technology. Her main research interests are product design, visual design, and art design history. The main courses undertaken include "Industrial Design", "VIS Design", "Product and Interaction Design", "Modern Design History", "Introduction to Art Design", etc., to guide students in the "red dot award" and "reluctant design" Awards and other works in the Chinese and foreign design competitions were awarded and selected.
Visiting professor at Brunel University, UK, Twente University, the Netherlands, Not only did she carrying out the Sino-Dutch Postgraduate Exchange Program, but also teaching the "Product Design for Chinese Market" course.
Since 2002, she has hosted and undertaken more than 10 vertical and horizontal scientific research projects. In recent years, the projects undertaken include “Beijing Public Transport Identification System Design Research and Demonstration Application”, “High-speed EMU CRH3 Overall Interior Product and Logo System Design”; She has authored (or co-authored) five books, such as "The Style and History of Nordic Design", and published more than 20 papers in SCI, core journals, and search journals, and won several papers. In 2009, she was awarded the title of "My Most Dear Teacher" by Beijing Jiaotong University.
