October 25, 2018 afternoon, the “revolution-evolution" as the theme of the "Third China SAIC Design and Design Academy Summit Forum" held in innovation zone of Jiading District,Shanghai. The theme of this summit forum is “ Design Upgrade under the New Challenges ” . Both the academic level of this forum and the guests are in a high level, and the theme of the forum truly reflects the current status of the automotive design industry, which is a good chance to discuss the new opportunities and challenges for the future of automotive design.
He Renke, dean of the School of Design, Hunan university, was invited to the forum to discuss the revolutions of the new era with the presidents of the universities, fully expressed the insights of design academy on the future design trends from the aspects of the rise of independent brands, new opportunities in the automotive industry, future automobile design, and automobile ecosystem, and explained how Chinese original car design rises and ranks among the world's design ranks under the tide of the times, and how university design education conforms to the trend and challenges, and puts forward the new ideas, new theory in design talent cultivation and school-enterprise cooperation mode.

The 6th " SAIC Design International Challenge " ended in 2018 | Jiang Zhenyu, student of Hunan University won the championship!
On October 25th , the 6th " SAIC Design International Challenge " finals and awards ceremony was held at the SAIC Design Center.
The theme of this year's competition is “ Discharge Design ” . The competition will release the task book for ROWWE and MG ,brands of SAIC. The contestants are free to choose their task:designing a Luxury flagship car based on pure electric platform in 2025 for ROEWE, or design a high-performance electric flagship car except the racing car for the MG brand in 2025.Combine with their understanding and judgment of future trends, design their future car and define a new travel experience in 2025.
Since its official launch on March 24, the design competition received more than 400 entries from nearly 100 colleges and universities at home and abroad. After being selected by the SAIC Design Review Team and the special cross-border design expert jury.finally, 30 works were selected as one of the top 30 in the world.
Mr. Hu Shunhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of SAIC Passenger Vehicle Company, presented the award to the first prize winner Jiang Zhenyu.
Finally, with the positioning of the Roewe and MG brands and the bold imagination and profound interpretation of the future concept of electric vehicles, the grand prize was released. Jiang Zhenyu from our school won the first prize. The second prize was won by Tan Renjie from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and Zhao Tangyu from Jiangsu University. The third prize was won by Chen Hanxuan of Wuhan University of Technology, Deng Weijun of Southwest Jiaotong University, and Jiang Yue of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts.
