Course description

“The History of Industrial Design "is a core foundation course for design students. The objective of course is to make students understand the human history, especially the development and evolution of design since the industrial revolution, including various design school, design style, the famous designers and their works and the historical conditions of design development. It is very important for students to grasp the direction of industrial design in future. The teaching goal of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the basics of design history through classroom teaching, to understand the background of the design movement, the excellent design traditions and brilliant design achievements of various countries, to comprehend the development of design, to improve the appreciation, aesthetic judgment and comprehensive analysis ability in design, and to provide the necessary theoretical guidance for better design.
