Course description
This course is the core curriculum of Industrial Design and Product Design.It takes the Form, Color & Materials,Two-dimensional Form, Three-dimensional Form as the leading courses, and provides the cultivation of deep thinking skills for the curriculum of visual image design.
This course is based on sketching and is scheduled for the fifth semester. It is mainly considered that the students have a preliminary understanding of the design art through the study of the first-grade basic courses (Form， Color，Two-Dimensional Form and Three-Dimensional Form) to the second-grade related design professional courses，so that their goal of learning is clear.And the course is designed to further enhance students' ability of thinking in images and deepen their understanding and utilization of modeling language.
Curriculum is based on formal language and performance, and operation process is a process of transition.In terms of morphology,it is from morphological appearance to internal structure, from stereoscopic to plane, and then to three-dimensional form shape, from natural form eventually to abstract form ;In terms of thinking, it is the combination of perceptual thinking and rational thinking，the cognition from the constant observation of the world to the macro world and the micro world.In terms of expression, it is from sketching study to a variety of means of creation.For a student learning design, the ability to refine and produce new modeling from multiple-angle of form analysis and development, the initiative application of form elements (such as principle of contrast), and the sensitive feeling of the composition order on the image, skeleton structure, rhythm and cadence is very important.Emphasis on the flexibility of thinking, the sensitivity of art, the cultivation of modeling taste, and，most importantly, the stimulation of students' own creativity and unique experience, ultimately enabling them to master the basic principles of visual art.Students will abandon routine again, break away from the insults, express their preferred form with a true and unique aesthetic, and make a clear response to their own sense and sensibility in the future world of art design.
